There is a hard plastic disk inside the upper that holds the thing together- it hurts the tops of my feet! I tried loosening the strap (although they were already loose); that didn't work, and was quite a job with the stiff materials the upper is constructed of. I would have returned these but had already worn them. :(

Got these on sale. The blue version strangely was the only one in half-sizes but the 6.5 were out. The size 7 is too wide and the buckle is purely for show as the sandal really cannot be made tighter. I might try a size 6 but I suspect it will be too small. Wouldn't pay full price since the quality seems questionable: buckle is very lightweight and seems like it might easily break.
